Your Care Wins at Bristol Dementia Awards 2026

Your Care Celebrates Success at the Bristol Dementia Awards 2026

Familiar faces. Time to listen. Someone who understands what matters to Mum or Dad.

These are the things families look for when choosing dementia support, and they are at the heart of everything we do at Your Care.

That is why we are so proud to share that Your Care South West was named joint winner of the Organisation Award at the Bristol Dementia Awards 2026, alongside Co-op Avonmouth.

We were also delighted to be recognised as finalists in three further categories:

  • Community Care Award
  • Dementia Friendly Space
  • Innovation Award

For our family-run team in Hanham, this recognition means so much. Representing our wider team at the ceremony, founder Tina Westlake and managing director Claire Westlake accepted the award on behalf of everyone who brings our values to life every day.

Celebrating Dementia Support Across Bristol

Organised by the Bristol Dementia Action Alliance, the awards celebrate the individuals, groups, and organisations raising dementia awareness and supporting people affected by dementia across our community.

This year’s ceremony took place on Friday 9 October 2026 at the Aztec Hotel & Spa, hosted by Bristol actor and BBC Radio presenter Joe Sims. It was a wonderful opportunity for Tina and Claire to represent Your Care and come together with others who share a commitment to helping people living with dementia feel understood, included, and supported.

We are proud to be part of that community, and we send our heartfelt congratulations to all the other winners and finalists.

What This Recognition Means to Us

When someone you love is living with dementia, finding the right support can bring up many questions:

  • Will they understand Dad’s sense of humour?
  • Will Mum see the same familiar faces?
  • Will someone take the time to really get to know them?

At Your Care, these questions shape our entire approach. We want to know the person behind the diagnosis—their favourite music, the routines they value, what makes them laugh, and what helps them feel comfortable.

We believe quality support starts with paying attention, building trust, and giving people time. Receiving this award gives us an opportunity to celebrate that philosophy and the dedicated team who put it into practice every day.

A Day of Their Own at Our Hanham Dementia Day Club

Our Dementia Day Club in Hanham gives people living with dementia a welcoming place to enjoy company, activities, and familiar faces, while giving families peace of mind and time for their own commitments.

  • A maximum of 10 guests: We welcome a maximum of 10 guests each day to ensure individual attention.
  • Tailored activities: Days include music, quizzes, arts and crafts, movement, conversation, and lunch together.
  • Dementia-trained support: Our dementia-trained team provides personal care and support with eating and drinking whenever needed.

For families considering a day club for the first time, we know that walking through the door can feel like a big step. That is why you can contact us to arrange a visit together, meet our team, and join us for an activity and a cuppa.
