Why your purchase matters
When you buy this eBook, you’re not buying from a big publisher. You’re supporting a small, family run dementia care service in Bristol.

The income from the book helps us keep doing the work we love and create more resources for families who are walking this path.

Why we wrote this eBook
Working with families over the last eleven years, we kept hearing the same story.

Someone they love is diagnosed with dementia. They’re given a diagnosis, a handful of leaflets and a follow up date. Then they’re sent home.

No clear next steps. No one to turn to with the real questions.

Families would sit at the kitchen table with us and ask things like:
• “Do they need to go into a care home now?”
• “Do I need to do anything differently at home?”
• “When should I start looking at support at home, and how do I even find it?”
• “Is there any funding available to help my loved one?”

Time and time again, we were sharing information they had no idea even existed. Not because it isn’t out there, but because they were overwhelmed, exhausted and short of time.

Many families told us they never really read the leaflets they were given. They didn’t feel very useful, and when they tried dementia websites, the information was hard to find and time consuming to piece together. Most people simply gave up.

We created After the Diagnosis: Your Guide to Living with Dementia to make life easier for those families.

It brings the key information together in one simple place, so you don’t have to spend hours researching when you’re already tired and worried.

Although we say it’s for the first year after a diagnosis, the real aim is to help you put things in place early, so life is much easier later on. You might not need every chapter right now, but when you do, it’s there, clear, practical and ready when you are.
