We’re looking for an experienced, confident and reliable Personal Assistant to support a client living with dementia in their own home in Thornbury.
This is a regular 12-hour day, 08:00–20:00, every Tuesday OR every Thursday, making it ideal for someone looking for consistent weekly work with the same client.
At Your Care, we believe good care comes from getting to know someone properly. Since 2014, we’ve supported people to remain at home with familiar, consistent support built around them.
What the Role Involves
You’ll be supporting the same client each week, providing experienced one-to-one dementia care throughout the day.
Support will include:
Companionship and reassurance
Supporting daily routines
Preparing meals and drinks
Medication reminders
Personal care
Supporting the client around their home and out in the community
Providing calm, confident support as their needs change throughout the day
Because of the client's needs, we are specifically looking for someone with strong dementia care experience who understands how to adapt their approach, communicate effectively and provide reassurance when needed.
What We’re Looking For
For this particular client, applicants must:
- Have a minimum of 2 years' experience supporting people living with dementia
- Be a car driver with access to their own vehicle
- Be available every Tuesday OR every Thursday from 08:00–20:00
- Be confident working independently
- Be reliable and able to commit to the same day each week
- Have a calm, patient and reassuring approach
- Understand the importance of consistency when supporting someone living with dementia
